Investor Saves Last Remaining Black-Owned Bank in Virginia

New signs at the former First State Bank were unveiled Tuesday morning, revealing its new name as Movement Bank. Super Bowl winner, entrepreneur Casey Crawford launches Movement  Bank

Casey Crawford — now the chairman of Movement Bank’s board — became the majority shareholder of First State Bank in June. He now owns about 94-percent of the bank’s stock, bank president and CEO Tom Smith said.

When Crawford became the majority shareholder of First State Bank in June, change was definitely taking place.
